NOx sensors monitor oxygen levels in engines, crucial for emissions control. OEMs source from EAT manufacturers, but cost concerns drive future market potential. With BS6 compliance ongoing and hydrogen/EVs on the horizon, demand remains for 5-7 years. Proposal includes refurbishing to cater to cost-sensitive customers.
Ashok Leyland Ltd., has given the opportunity to Camware Technologies to develop Nox Sensor assembly as a offset program against imports From Cummins.
Ashok Leyland extended full support to test, validate and approve the final product. India is moving towards clean fuel technology for their logistics.
Hydrogen cell fuel as fuel with oxygen combustion will greatly reduce / eliminate harmful exhaust gases.
Nox sensor are the Oxygen level monitoring sensor which regulates oxygen intake based on inputs given through ACU & ECU - Auxillary control Unit & Electronic Control Unit which are incorporated in the engine design.
As the sensors are the main constituent for the feedback mechanism and these sensors are continuously exposed to high temperature environment, failures over a period of time is inevitable. Currently the OEMs buy from major EAT – Exhaust After Treatment manufacturers.
As the market mature and the cost impact is realized by the OEMs and the customers, such sensors have promising market in future both in India and abroad.
Currently Automotive companies are producing BS6 compliant engines. The next shift would be towards Hydrogen fuel and EVs. Hence demand for BS6 based products will have demand for the next 5 years to 7 years.
To neutralize the imports, we are also proposing refurbishing which will cater to cost sensitive customers like fleet owners, State Transport Corporations & retail customers who operate on contract basis.
